• Good sites to keep up with the English and American news..

    To follow the English news, you can go on www.BBC.co.uk. On this site you have the British news, you can listen online to the BBC radio wich is the national radio (there is an hourly report) and at the bottom of the page, you have a great menu where you can find news about the new films, advices for gardening, the businness news and even quizzes and videos to learn English. The Times (www.timesonline.co.uk) offers its articles online too.

    For the American news, you can go on www.PBS.org where you have quite good articles but where it's quite difficult to find informations about a special topic. There is also CNN.com on which you can watch reports and TV programms about anything and everything, political news, news item or even the last novelties in technology... As for the newspapers, you can visit the New York Times' website on which you can find its articles.

    So, all these sites offer nearly the same things but my favourite one is the BBC's because of the variety of the topics. Of course, you can also read the English or American newspapers that you can find in lots of French tobacconists or watch English speaking TV channels...

  • GOOD MORNING ENGLAND

    1966, it's the peak of rock'n'roll in Great Britain. But the government spread only forty-five minutes of this music and the British can't listen to rock'n'roll. So, they listen to music illegaly thanks to the pirate radios..... which are on boats in the North Sea.

    Good Morning England is a movie which relates this history with humour:

    The story takes place on the boat"Radio Rock" (nicknamed "the Boat of love" by one of the eight DJs). So a group of DJs -crazy DJs - emcee Radio Rock. We can see Dave - who "try and pick girls up"-, the Comte and Gavin, the two  American DJs, Bob, a hippy or Simon, king of hit parade... All the characters have their stories, with spicy and funny details. The end is very... special, or rather... surprising.

    And of course, I've forgotten to said that the musical program is so good - just songs, great songs, of the sixties (The Kinks, the Turtles, the Beach Boys, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Jimi Hendrix...)

    The movie lasts about two hours but it's very very funny and gripping...

  • Inglorious Basterds

    Three weeks ago, I saw a film called: Inglorious Basterds. This film was realised by Quentin Tarantino. Usually, this realisator mades violent films but there are always very interesting. Inglorious basterds's main actors are Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz or also Melanie Laurent. The film was pretty good but it lasted more than two hours, it was a bit long.
    The film tells us several stories:
    -The 1st story is about a jewish woman who is the last survivor of his family and comes in Paris to open a cinema . But a nazi meets her and wants to project his film in her cinema
    -The 2nd story is about a Resistant Band: The Basterds who kill nazis and cut their scalp
    -In the End, the Jew wants to avenge herself so she decides to burn her cinema when Hitler is watching a film. In the same moment The Basterds comit a bomb attack in the same cinema to kill Hitler Too. Hitler Die ...
    I have Liked this film because it tells us a story during the second war so it's interesting because we can see another point of view. Before, films about the 2nd war have never told of a Jew who wants to avenge herself. I also liked that the film was made of 4 chapters, it seemed like a book. Moreover Tarantino presented the characters with a Balloon behind their head to say their name, it was like a comic Strip

  • CRYSTAL CASTLES.

    Crystal Castles is my favorite singer. This music is a little bit hard but this is originaly ! I like it more than all others songs. I know that people will don't aggree me because its really nerd. It's a mixture of sounds of games boy with battery and a voice faked to have a sound more hardware. Tell me if you love it or not. And WHY ? This is a GORGEOUS music !
